Lanka's longest grand circuit — 22 days immersed in everything the Pearl of the Indian Ocean has to offer. Ancient kingdoms, sacred temples, wildlife encounters, the world's finest tea, a UNESCO colonial fort, and days of unhurried beach bliss. This is Sri Lanka at its most complete.
This is the journey for travellers who want to leave Sri Lanka and say "I saw it all." Over 22 leisurely days, you trace the full arc of the island — from the Dutch-colonial fishing town of Negombo to the mythical sky fortress of Kassapa's Sigiriya (Kassapa Lions Rock), through the ancient royal capital of Polonnaruwa, the sacred highland city of Kandy, the mist-draped tea estates of Nuwara Eliya, the fortified ramparts of Dutch Galle, and finally the sun-drenched golden beaches of Bentota — where the journey concludes in total relaxation.
Paced deliberately so every destination is savoured — not just checked off. Lanka JP Tours' guides are selected for their deep knowledge of each region, and accommodation is chosen to complement the landscape: boutique villas in Sigiriya, a heritage hotel with Kandy lake views, a colonial residence in Nuwara Eliya, a fort-adjacent boutique in Galle, and a beachfront resort in Bentota.

Arab traders called Sri Lanka "Serendib" (from Sanskrit Siṃhaladvīpaḥ). The English writer Horace Walpole coined "serendipity" in 1754 from a Persian fairy tale called "The Three Princes of Serendib" — whose heroes made fortunate accidental discoveries. Sri Lanka has been synonymous with happy surprises for 1,200 years.
Sri Lanka is one of the earliest inhabited islands on Earth. Archaeological evidence from Fa Hien Cave in the south shows human occupation from 125,000 BCE — predating most known human settlements in the world. The Vedda people, descendants of this ancient population, still inhabit the island's forests today.
Buddhism arrived in Sri Lanka in 247 BCE when Emperor Ashoka's son Mahinda Thero converted King Devanampiya Tissa. The sacred Bo tree planted in Anuradhapura from a sapling of the Bodhi tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment — is the oldest documented living tree in human history at 2,300 years old.
Sri Lanka made history in 1960 when Sirimavo Bandaranaike became the world's first female Prime Minister — the first woman to hold that office anywhere on Earth. The same family produced another female Prime Minister and President, making Sri Lanka's political history as extraordinary as its natural heritage.
